Our lads are Winston (black lab) and Archie (black greyhound).

Was going to be Winston and Adolf after watching a war documentary but thought that might be a bit controversial!

Best dog name ever was one my dad had as kid .... "Oi!!!"

So when they were in the park ... you get the picture.

Our Bichon Frise is called Brandy:P Our Weimaraner is called Ben and he is 8weeks old :D

In a book we were reading before buying our dog it says leave at least 9 months between getting the puppies because if not they will Bond together instead of with you also if you get one trained at 9months then get another one it will learn from the older dog and be easier to train :)

A woman in the next road already has two poodles called Ronnie and Reggie :(

I'd be very interested to hear your experiences of two dogs. Just post in this thread unless it's something you'd rather not have public. I'm sure others would find it interesting too.

I'd love a RR but I don't think the Mrs would

Ok, here goes:

-Firstly they won't bond as well with you as if you get 1 at a time.

-The dominance battle last far longer than people say so I can't imagine leaving a couple of weeks is anywhere near long enough

-They feed off each others naughtiness

-It's much more difficult to train them

-You have to spend a lot of time doing seperation training

-Much more difficult to discipline them (they don't know who you are saying "no bad dog!" to)

-House training will take twice as long as they are constantly active playing with each other rather than sitting still as they would on their own

-House training, you rush one outside, turn round and you've missed the other one going!

-When they have their mad 10 mins it's chaos

-Taking them to the vet, OMG. Nightmare

-Meeting other dogs they will double team them

-They feed off each others confidence so if you're out for a walk, on it's own pup will run off a bit but will look to you to feel safe, with 2 they are in enough of a pack to piss off together happily

-Food, they may end up being on seperate foods which is a PITA

Loads of other things too like you have to seperate them to groom them as 1 thinks it's a game and chases the brush etc then you don't have a hope in hell

-Won't leave each other alone

-Always want what the other has got (toys bone etc)

-The other dog is nearly always more intersting than you

-Even when they are housetrained one will ask to go out so you get up and let them out then 5 mins later the other one wakes up so you're up and down like a yo-yo all evening

On the other hand:

They are great company and best mates

They copy each others good habits too

If you've got one that recalls then the other tend to follow

They are good company for each other

They are good company for each other

:D lol sounds bad when you write it.

Seriously, it's do-able. Feel free to come and experience ours if you want to see what they are like. Although TBH they are far better behaved/trained than most dogs we meet who are on their own and far older. So it's do-able but it really is madly hard work. We haven't sat down and relaxed in 6 months, seriously.

That's just off the top of my head. I wouldn't swap them for the world and we knew what we were letting ourselves in for but even-so I couldn't hand on heart recommend it.

Oh and I hear litter mates are supposed to be far far worse!

Se would change her mind if she met Stig I guarantee it!!!
