Guest nickjnelly
Hey guys, i have been a long time fan of the supra. I just recently got a new job and may be able to afford one now.. I love the Turbo Supra but most decent turbo supras are around $20,000 or more I dont need a turbo supra, and would be perfectly happy with a nonturbo supra. Maybe down the road if i got power hungry, i could have a few options. 1.Turbo the nonturbo motor 2. Pull the motor and put a 2jz in 3. Sell the non-turbo for a turbo version Would spending about $14,000 on a non-turbo be ok? for a Non-turbo 5 Speed. I am currently making $35K a year. and my monthly bills are about $500 I was thinking about taking a loan out from the bank, and paying that off. I know these cars are expensive, and overheard a Supra owner telling antoehr Supra owner how expensive the car is to own. And get some sort of insurance on the car as well.. Any idea the cost of Insurance in TN for a 22Yr old with a clean record? any replies are appreciated. thanks for your time..
Pabs
A 22yr old? On an import that's got to be 4 figures for insurance....
chilli
Well it sounds like it would be worth getting an N/A for a year or two. If you still want a TT after that the best idea is probably to sell up and buy a nice one when you're ready. they can be a bit pricey to run, but it depends how much you use it. It will cost more than your average car to run, even the NA is still 3l
Oly
The insurance will probably be about £1100-£1300 And the non-turbo is good on fuel - although u can watch it go down wen u r sitting at 150mph (on a private track)
Rayman
A 22yr old? On an import that's got to be 4 figures for insurance.... Dont forget he's in the US, so NA supe isnt an import over there i dont think. Gas is cheap for you guys compared with us!So running costs cant be too bad! Id do what chilli says above! Dont leave yourself short of money just in case something does go wrong, you never know.

carl0s
1.Turbo the nonturbo motor too expensive 2. Pull the motor and put a 2jz in It already has a 2JZ. The non turbo motor is a 2JZ-GE, the turbo motor is a 2JZ-GTE. 3. Sell the non-turbo for a turbo version Better idea
