Jake
In Photoshop (ver CS2 if it matters), how can I make an oject have a faded edge? So that it fades to transparent around its border - if you see what I mean. Thanks
Pete
Yep.
Pete
You can use various techniques to treat the edges of an effect applied to only part of an image. To leave a distinct edge, simply apply the filter. For a soft edge, feather the edge, and then apply the filter. For a transparent effect, apply the filter, and then use the Fade command to adjust the selection’s blending mode and opacity. .. I can't see how this is useful. Come on Ed. Pete
You could apply the concepts in this tutorial perhaps ? Just don't use an elipse, use a stroked path http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshop/ht/apsvignette.htm
Jake
That'll do it. Cheers Pete
China Man
open image, choose mask option at the layer window. depends on the mask colour you can use a soft brush and paint the edge away by using black or white colour. if that make any sense? Jake
Right thanks fellas, got that working now. Another question: When I select an area and press Delete it leaves me with the background colour inside the selected area. I don't want that, I want it completely blank - so that it's transparent. How? Thanks
IDO
to get it transparent space it has to be on a layer... it will put a background colour in if you are working on the "background" layer...
SupraStar 3000
Like IDO says. - Open layers. - Double click background. - Turn to Layer 01 ...delete will remove colour now (You should see a checkered background)
