Ewen
My favorite all time film so far is Alien. I love the use of classical music, and the use of two set designers; One for the man-made ship, with systems and machinery we could imagine as developments of what we know now, and one for the Alien and the alien ship...totally outside of our knowledge and imagination. The use of a female lead who outlasts the other crew is clever too. Second favorite is Bladerunner, third is 2001 A space odyssey.

twijesiri
OK May be a little late for this newbie to cut in here but. Batman the1st one, with Michael Kenton, its got everything action drama flash cars and dumb lines: The Joker's line "Take thy beak from out my heart" Great Followed quickly by another Tim Burton film Beatle Juice Wait; isn’t that Michael as well, I sense a pattern here! Ewen
I wondered why Kyle had so many boxes when I moved him up to Uni. We had over 200 movie DVDs....just found out we still have over 200 DVD boxes, but the discs have mysteriously gone. Hes left the Columbo ones though. Janes just said 'Er, I'll make you a nice cup of tea'. Hes a bad bugger.

Digsy
Slightly oddball choice for me. My fave film is The Dambusters - yep, the black and white WW2 epic. Always has been, ever since I first heard about the story and saw it when I was a little boy I have just come back from a holiday in Derbyshire, so while I was there I paid a trip to Derwent resevoir where they practised before the actual raid. Man, that approach is tight - and short! The idea of getting a lumbering, four engined heavy bomber down into a valley, and then dead straight and level at just 60 feet over the water while being shot at from the front, and then releasing your one and only bomb at the exact right moment almost defies belief. British engineering and bravery at its best, I reckon. Truly awe-inspiring. For the anoraks amongst you, the dams raid was the model for the attack on the Death Star in Star Wars (my second fave filme) and some of the dialogue is the same between the two movies. What constitutes 'ownership' of a DVD....the act of paying for them, or the act of ordering them on line ? Wifey thinks as Son ordered them they be his. I know better than to argue, so a new collection starts. This threads mentioned loads I'd love to own (again)

I love it. Then, if you like Sci-Fi and you haven't already seen it (or even if you have) Serenity. Saw it the other day, one of the best space adventure type thingys I've seen for ages - I'd go so far as to say better than Revenge of the Sith. Havard
Snatch is the best film by a country mile. Can you honestly say that the part played by Brad Bitt can ever be bettered. Add Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, Mike Reid and Alan Ford(Bricktop) to the equation and your laughing! Every 10 Secs.!!! Anyone who disagrees wants feeding to the pigs!!! H.
