DannyW
Bad luck mate, looks like a new wing needed and some paint on the bumper. Perhaps you could get a 2nd hand wing to keep costs down? shouldn't be too pricey either way, if he pays up then it's all good.

So basically i have no legal leg to stand on Anyone got a drivers wing in silver?
DannyW
Well the wing could probably be fixed with some filler etc. but might work out cheaper to source a second hand silver wing and just swap it over. As for the legal side, were there any witnesses to say he was on the phone etc.? if not then you might struggle unfortunately.
Pig
You cant just put a silver wing on, it will not match. You need to get the new wing painted and make sure that he blend into the bonnet and the door. Will cost a lot to do it properly!

supragold
You could always argue it with the police and get them to check his phone bill.

Bobbeh
.. and get him to lie in court about a minor car accident, are you that dumb? Thats a more serious offence than the accident.

kamikaze
Think my best option is to get a secondhand wing and get it sprayed. In theory he could try to claim off my insurance-so i dont want to piss him off too much

JustGav
You could always argue it with the police and get them to check his phone bill. The police can request the phone records to determine whether or not he was on the phone (incoming and outgoing). My ex-neighbour's friend was done for negligent driving and death by dangerous driving, he was driving an artic on the phone. Personally I felt he got what he deserved, but the police can pull the records.

turnerjr
looking at the pics mate id say about £200 to repair and paint the wing and spray the bumper. ive seen alot worse repaired. All depends on how good the colour match is though to the bonnet, otherwise you will need to start blending which will push the price up. hope this helps
JohnA
This sort of accident is a 50/50 at best, so you better take the rap and be more careful next time. If you involve police and insurance companies you'll end up worse off.

Sheefa
My bonnet costs £680 including mop of car mate, but the sup bonnet is a big fuc*er and I went to a BMW/Lotus specialist. I reckon if you can source a cheap wing, you can have it sprayed fro around £200. Question is how bad is the damage to front bumper? If it's gone through to the primer then it'll probably be a full respray. Good luck buddy and sorry to hear it
