JamesC
Has anyone had a data check done on their car? I had one done through the AA and it came up with this: Condition data check: The vehicle is recorded on our condition database. This means that the vehicle has been subject to a total loss claim by an insurance company on due to IMPORTED Would you like Customer Services to investigate on your behalf? If you are concerned about the roadworthiness we recommend that you arrange for an AA Vehicle Inspection which will check the safety and examine the bodywork and mechanical operation of the car. The vehicle is recorded as having been Imported * Does this just mean that its been imported or that its been written off? The check doesnt say whether its an SZ or RZ either just that its 3000cc, but tescos website brings it up as a tt RZ.
toyotasuprauk
That doesn't really make much sense to me. Don't forget what ever has happened to it in Japan would not be recorded in the UK so if its a fresh import its pretty useless.
JamesC
Yeah, doesnt make any sense. I only did it because Tesco said the car was an RZ. Its been in the country since 1999 though.
toyotasuprauk
Only way to be sure what it is, is by the model number on the car. Get that and you will know for sure.

toyotasuprauk
Its not the vin number. I cant remember exactly but I think its next to the vin on the plate under the bonnet. Something like ALMSF for example.
SimonB
Go to www.mkiv.co.nz, click on "specs" and have a look at the chassis plate info bit. The model code will tell you everything you need to know....
