Patrick_Devlin
I was in the Post Office this lunchtime and this bloke was at the counter trying to get road tax... no problem he thought!!!! It sounded like he owned 2 cars, but only had one insurance policy. This main policy allowed him to drive another car 3rd party. He was trying to say to the P.O staff that this was valid insurance to get his road tax. They said he'd have to get a note from his insurance company saying that they would insure that (his second) car. Was this guy trying to pull a fast one? Technically he is insured on his main car and any other cars, but I didnt think that a normal policy would cover you if you owned more than one car... He got pretty p*ssed off when they wouldnt give him tax. I think they were right and he knew he was talking b*ll*x...
michael
While *he* is insured the car isn't - to get tax the car has to be insured so he was in the wrong. If that little trick worked I wouldn't be forking out to insure a crappy little Fiesta as a second car
Patrick_Devlin
Thats exactly what I thought. I've been through that loop with insurance companies over what is and isnt insured. It was quite funny as he was getting really worked up. What a plonker!
toyotasuprauk
If you have an insurance policy which covers you to drive other cars it only covers you if they are not yours and not a hire car.
