supRo
Spotted you on Trumpington Road, Cambridge Town center today at 18:30. I though I had seen the car on this forum - Veilside spoiler and the 'CVP' numberplate but I thought it was someone elses but with a bit of research...It's you! You wouldn't have seen me as I was on a bus and the Supra was at the Trumpington 'Park and Ride' car park! Nice car, Ro
b.weeks
Cheers mate :-) Thought I would have been spotted recently! In the last two weeks I been Edinburgh -> Sheffield -> Cambridge -> London -> Cambridge -> Ipswich -> Cambridge -> London -> Cambridge -> Hemel -> Luton -> Cambridge -> Luton -> London -> Chelmsford -> Cambridge! :-) Just checked out your vehicle - like the in-car screen. I'm working on a Car-PC at the moment. All components setup, just need inserting into the vehicle now. Idea is to be able to synchronize computer over Wi-Fi with music/videos on home PC, etc.
supRo
Nice project mate Where abouts in Luton were you driving? I may have seen you at the Airport? Cheers, Ro
b.weeks
We went to the Golden Chief Chinese - think that was the name of it. It was late last Sat night. What have you got your screen wired up to? I see your going to the Pod next month - I was thinking of going, but the week after.
supRo
Golden Chef - I know the one but they are not particularly good! lol! The screen is the slave to my head unit which is the Pioneer AVIC X1R which has DVD and Sat-nav. I can have DVD or Playstaion on both screens. Try and make it for the Japshow - It's my fave show as you have the bonus of the drag strip with 1000 Bhp+ cars in action
b.weeks
No - they weren't too brilliant - cheap though! :-) I was gonna have a car with my own car the following week ... do you get to have a go in your own vehicle that week? What time is it? What screen is it? I ordered a Zenarc 700IDT I think it was. Seems very bright with the high-brightness add-on - apparently some screens are hard to seen when it's bright (but that was from a guy who had an MG open-top!). Yeah, will indeed be an interesting project, as writing some software to read e-mails out on the move (3G datacard), display engine info, etc. etc.
supRo
Yes, you can have a go on the Japshow day but queue will be long. See the following for more info: http://www.Japshow.co.uk/ 100+ members now going The following link has details about meeting up for a convoy: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=971185&postcount=1 The screen is a centurion - It has better picture quality than the Pioneer screen! Wow! The software you are writing is very interesting! The Avic x1r also shows engine info such as speed, voltage, g-force, slope and few other things. b.weeks
Yeah, it's actually also for a demo for the Police too, so has some functionality in it for patrol cars too. But I'm going to add more "ICE" stuff to it for my own purposes. Output of the PC will go to a amp then on to speakers too. Quite easy to also wire up cameras for drag days and mics for in-car calls etc. My partner in crime has written software that shows various engine stats etc., so will look at integrating that too if time permits.
