Me in 'Great South Run' insanity...

Mike

Recommended Posts

OK, not sure how this happened but I will be, (lets say) 'participating' in The Great South Run... on 22nd October.

It's all in the name of a good cause, Cancer Research UK...

So this is my plea to the good (generous) people of our fine Supra community to dig deep and sponsor me if you can... anything would be very much appreciated, and no doubt Charlotte will supply lots of embarrassing pictures of me, in my luminous orange trainers, looking absolutely f*cked... for your viewing pleasure... :)

I've set up a small web page explaining all with a very slick credit/debit card system to ease you of your hard earned currency;

Many thanks

Mike :)

What sort of time are you planning to run the 10 miles in or is it a case of just getting to the end ?

Have you done much training for it.

I have sponsored you although the message i left got cut off half way through and now it makes me look like i have pictures of you in spandex or something :D

Thanks for the support! very much appreciated! :)

well, I do a fair amount of running at the gym and am starting to do road running... I'm doing 6k on a good gradient 3 times a week at the minute, with other cross trainer cardio stuff thrown in... I don't think it'll be a breeze, but I think I should be able to make it in one piece... I hope...

  • 3 weeks later...

OK, just done it!

..and to be fair it wasn't too bad... I plodded away and got me a time of 1 hour 25 minutes.. which I was fairly pleased with being that I've only done distance like this once before (erm, last Monday night after work..!)... and it absolutely pissed down the whole way round!

Here's a picture of me whilst calling up the folks... thanks Charlotte, she always gets my good side!

Thanks to all of the above peeps who supported me.. I managed to raise £300 in the end.. all of which will be mucho appreciated by those good folks at Cancer Research...

Thanks again everyone! :grouphug:

Thank you for this award. Without the constant pressure of work ;) and busily doing up the flat I would never have been a contender.

I promise to post it tomorrow. :)
