TLicense
Just 1 point... Bikes account for 1% of road users, but 20% of all road fatalities. Obviously bike riders are generally shit at using their chosen form of transport.
LeeT
Where did all this bollox come from? Bikes are faster, so what?
TLicense
Where did all this bollox come from? Bikes are faster, so what? You say that but the fastest ever average speed in a race was achieved by a car. (One that I worked on too! )
chilli
fastest land speed record is held by a (rocket) car too as is the fastest drag monster isn't it? and so on...

(One that I worked on too! ) yeh i know but in general the big bikes are faster, anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. However there are some cars on here that would surprise the shit out of bike riders on motorway pulls at high speeds

Charlotte
Wow all these bikers live in very exotic places. I've never seen any of them around these parts before.

However there are some cars on here that would surprise the shit out of bike riders on motorway pulls at high speeds yeah that's not a bad summary, but I wouldn't confine it to just motorways, twisty A and B roads level the playing field even more. It's just amazing how much late braking you can do in a car as you enter a bend

tbourner
I'll race any bike on here. On my terms though I choose the race route. Anyone?
Alex
Put simply. Bikes win (usually) when it's a power to weight ratio form of acceleration. Cars win once air resistance builds up due to the bike having a high Cd factor. Cornering...much of a bikes corner speed comes from the riders commitment. It's far easier/safer to go fast round corners in a car.... Do they ever do lateral G tests on bikes/tyres? If so what's the highest? Most sports cars can pull nigh on 1G (.097+) lateral and sustain it. What lateral grip figures can a superbike pull?
Guest 800BHP
priceless, wouldn't be surprised that if you google for that exact string it takes you straight to their site bit harsh, shame this all started with a couple of people having a disagreement, and now it seems to be turning into a site war. i am from that site and like this site the majority of members are actualy decent people, hope it can be resolved as i have met some nice people on this site and seen some awsome cars, still prefer my bike tho just MY opinion i can tell you that this discusion is on one of our topic boards but the response is no where near as harsh as it is on this site. honest truth. we all have our hobbies and interests, and bikes and cars both have there advantages, i'm really not interested in racing cars because there really isnt any point and i wouldn't want to take the chance of perhaps killing myself in the process. ofcourse a drag at santa pod would be of interest for a laugh, i'd love to have ago in one of your supra's actualy, just for the feeling of blood rushing to the back of ya head during exceleration anyway rant over
chilli
bit harsh, hey I'm only messing around don't be offended. I actually like bikes honest - I just like cars more. I don't see bikes through rose tinted sunglasses, they have their big cons just as they have some pros too... It's all good, we all have at least one thing in common, we love fine machinery and we love going fast

Bob
I've learned something new today I've learned that even the bikers world can be tarnished with illiterate village-idiot-a-like chavs. Glad it's not just modified car owners
RobSheffield
and eradicate genuine new members too. Not the way to go IMO. nope Any GENUINE member will be GENUINE enough to pay up to post. The most recent one i introduced did so. If you are looking into buying a car which costs as much to run as a Supra, then 10 quid isnt going to be of consequence. How about a system where a new member introduces himself, and the mods approbve or disprove based on the first post. This then stops gobshites popping on for a rant at us since they cant afford a Supra
