matt k
Just trawled through this lot, and found some quite funny, don't think there was any point to the rest!I have built and ridden bikes most of my life, until the last five years, and no self respecting biker i know of would spout the shite i have read on here, anyway bikes and cars are about as close in terms of driving/riding experience as chalk and the proverbial, and are both capable in different ways, and i thought most people realised that most reasonable sized sports bikes will leave most cars for dead on a strait road, until speed and drag coefficient become a problem for a bike, this is where cars have one advantage, the other being cornering, most decent cars will leave a bike through the bends due to better levels of grip etc, so both good at different things so whats the problem? apart from a couple of idiots who call themselves "bikers";) One thing i have always thought would make for better road safety as far as cars and bikes go, would be for all prospective car drivers having to learn to ride a bike for a period of time, before being allowed to drive! just my thoughts, but i have seen so many bikers crippled or lose their lives due to car drivers just not being awear of the treat they can pose to bikes. Quality post dude.
matt k
TLicence, Well done for stating the obvious - twats in all walks of life unfortunately. Just be thankfull that with all the shit going on in the world today, the only thing you have to whinge about is a scooter failing to salute you for moving 30cm one day. Jamie, don't post pics of BC from Cadwell - they'll cum in their Y-fronts at the thought of a girlie actually being able to handle a fast machine :d :d Search and Ye shall find. SUPRASUZUKI
F*ck me, I only went away for a couple of days!! I come back to find it's cars v bikes again! I currently feel 'beaten up' by both sides for having a power ranger suit and a spoiler (I don't use them both at the same time...). Oh, and I got a told by my better half that both my favorite vehicles are impractical, as neither will take us both and the two kids. Kittyclaws
when ever i want to overtake a car on my bike most drivers pull over and let me by and i always raise my hand on the way past to say thanks, as it's much appreciated, As for cars wanting to get passed me,.....well its never happened and not likely to, as i would probably nail it and leave them for dust;) except for motorways where i normaly sit in the middle lane coz high speed is boring on the motorway and you've a constant battle with the wind. there are a few rude people out there on the road, some bikers and some drivers, lorry and bus drivers are the worst but without them we would get bored and have nothing to moan about. i agree with the earlier coment about all drivers having to ride a bike before getting a drivers license, coz to be honest riding a bike has made me a better and safer driver, makes you more aware of things around you and reaction times are quicker bye for now Good post that,, I started riding bikes at 8 yrs old and have had always had a bike till about 4 years ago. When I first started on the road, you had a Bike because you loved them, and you felt like you was in one big family, but then it started to go downhill a bit, the big family feeling was getting smaller etc. I do pull over slightly when a bike pulls up behind with about 70% thanking me. due to starting out on bikes, I feel it has made me a much safer driver, not saying that i don't give it some, but I'm aware of my limits etc

Thorin
Racing for pinks? We don't have pinks. Someone's been watching too much fast and the furious. And what bike forum is this that all the trolls appeared from, I'm guessing it was 800bhp who posted about this forum then.
mikeyb10supra
What a joke....just sat here and read the whole thread through my lunch break, what a Load of complete bollocks, horses for courses and all that I would happily admit there are some very fast bikes out there and 98% of cars would not match them, stop sucking your own knobs and raving about how quick they are, im sure everyone already knows what your telling them, your making yourself look stupid rising to it
Thorin
Oh it's been brought up again. I must apologise to 800bhp, it wasn't him who posted the thread on their forum.

Some people in this thread sound like kids arguing over who's dad would win in a fight. F*****g pathetic. As previously mentioned many times, bikes and cars are two totally different forms of transport and as such cannot be compared like for like. There are advantages to both of course, but do we have to go through the same bloody thing every week or so? Glad to see the pillocks who started the debate have been banned. That car was also on HKS 2835 twins, which are outdated compared to the many of the newer turbos.
Nick
Given the choice of some nice empty twisties in the early morning and a Gixer600, or an empty autobahn and a Supra..... Impossible choice

chilli
although this thread is in it's dying throws I'll just add that although you can't really compare chalk and cheese, there are some relatively affordable cars that could upset a bike in any real (i.e. not just straight line 1 shot acceleration) test. The Radical SR8 holds the Nerbergring lap record and I'd be shocked if any bike could beat that. I pulls massive lateral G, ways f-all and has good bhp The Ultima GTR is also an amazing car with excellent lateral G, power to weight etc (720 bhp version). Both of these cars, whilst costing more than bikes, are within reach of Joe public, and stock they offer amazing performance. Or you could build a custom special kit car, with that, anything is possible
