foodfreak
Gauging interest, won't be available for 3-4 weeks Map ECU, and related bits (air temp sensor, serial cable etc) mapped for 650's, has been running on my car for the past 2 years. gets rid of the Maf sensor so can run on U.K & VVTi's works fine on T61 or T67 (have a look at the ems tuning thread on powerhouse racing's board) offers? tDR
What kinda ballpark are you in John? And what would I require to fit it to my J spec non vvti in order to make it work properly? What about the fitting harness you can get for them, is this included? Cheers, Brian.
foodfreak
Swapping for F-con pro V, tDR, Please pm & we'll talk
Alex
Brian/All The MAP ECU removes the MAF on a UK/US/VVTi model. JDM Pre VVTi need not apply. IMO it's the wrong tool for a standard J-Spec. The eManage is a better/proven bet. Hope you don't mind me saying that FoodFreak/John?
Alex
Swapping for F-con pro V, Nice choice...I think it's the right ECU for the VVTi.
foodfreak
It's ok Alex, As I said, it's really for MAF based cars. If I hadn't been offered a very good deal by a mate, then I would have been quite happy with the MAP ecu. it does what it's supposed to do with any fuss & is fairly straightforward to map. john

Hope you don't mind me saying that FoodFreak/John? e-manage ultimate would certainly be my preferred self mappable choice (I'd have a PFC if I had a manual) but the MAP ECU certainly looks like a good value alternative after reading the PHR threads / comments there on timing adjustment not really being necessary. (which I'm not entirely convinced of, but that's me being sceptical) Cheers, Brian.

Marty
These are perfect for a uk spec, ive got one of these and im more than happy running it. Loads of american tuners swear by these, and lets face it, they know more about supra's than we do! unfortuantly.

tDR
Me neither - what's your thinking on that Alex? Cheers, Brian.
Alex
The MAP ECU is for converting MAF signals...Brian doesn't have a MAF. Yeah it can do a MAP but it's completely bonkers to do that with the MAP ECU when a second hand EMB can do it much better and with more functions on top. I just think it's the wrong tool for the job on a pre-vvti j-spec.
tDR
I know it's primarily been designed for the US Supra with MAF sensor for airflow metering but it's certainly not limited to that. It can do fuelling adjustment on any of the Supra variants... but yeah emanage ultimate (I wouldn't buy the blue knowing I could have the ultimate) would be a more featured choice, if more expensive.
