JonW
I have used up to around 5mm of tread on my rears in the last 3000 miles. The wear is even across the tyre. The tyres are Toyo TS1s. Is this a sign of something wrong with the car or simply that they are fast wearing tyres? p.s. I don't drive like an idiot but I do drive fairly fast if the road conditions allow it. It's a mixture of around town and motorway speeds!!!
Max Headroom
Not being a tyre expert but I would say for a powerful rear wheel drive car that is possibly par for the course, Having even wear is better than uneven wear, I have just changed mine and on the front they were almost bald on the innner rim whilst on the outside rim almost new. Thorin
Get your alignment/suspension geometry checked out, that's excessive.
JonW
My geo was done fairly recently. The weird thing is that prior to the Toyos I had Kuhmos on and they lasted around 15K. Not sure what's going on here. Will get the Geo checked again though Cheers Jon
Scooby
Try fitting a 4" block of wood under the noisy pedal, should solve the problem.
JonW
lol, might as well get rid of the Supra then:)
rovervi
would Toyo's not be more of a performance tyre and so maybe softer rubber than a Kumho which is probably a value for money tyre that maybe is not so good on handling etc but lasts longer could be completely wrong, just a thought
Dave
i have heard toyos are really good grippy tyre but a soft compound i got goodyear eagle f1s on mine and they have lasted ages.
Pig
what pressure do you have the tires set to? Do you get much wheel spin? When i bought RLTC my tyre bills halfed
ivan
T1-Rs are better wearing and just as good a grip. My T1-Ss wore down at a hell of a rate too.
