Wez
Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone in the UK has used these wheels, the US guys rate them for track and road racing :- http://www.ccwheel.com/racepage-index.html
MONKEYmark
they look good wheels with black centers and polished rims http://www.ccwheel.com/Images/gallery/ltoy-supra-tb.jpg what size you thinking of going with
Wez
Still looking into it as the guys in the US seem to go with 18" at the front and 17" at the rear, still trying to figure why this combo is liked so much. I have attached a pic of the wheels on a supra.

Sharpie
I take it that, that pic is after a session ? The middle of the rims look grey (Brake dust ?) as opposed to the nice black on the CCW website. I too would be interested in why the 17/18 split R&F That rear tyre width looks very nice
MONKEYmark
email dusty at MVPmotorsport he has ccw wheels. also here is bogart wheels site http://www.bogartracingwheels.com/ or you can do a search on supraforums or email dusty about them. also check here they 15 and 16 inch wheels so may be too small for track. they tend to use them for drag wheels. and you need small brakes or they wont fit. http://www.jscspeed.com/mk4/wheels.htm bottom of link $345 each http://store5.yimg.com/I/supra_1770_7617512 here for a pic, its on suprastore, http://www.6mt.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2372 some wheel weights
Willson
As I understand (?) The 18" front is good for turn in cornering and big brake kits, while the 17" rear gives better traction/less wheelspin. I have seen this combo all over the place. While it looks slightly unusual, it seems to make sense.
Wez
I have found sound more info :- Wheels Front - 18x10 Rear - 17x11.5 Tyres 18x10 285/30/18's Kumho Rcomps 17x11.5 315/35/17's Kumho Rcomps This info is direct from CCW :- The street wheels are the same as the track wheels, just nicer looking. They come with a polished billet center cap and stainless steel bolts. The race wheels come with a more cost effect bolt that is strong enough for race use, but not necessarily pretty. The race wheels are also not machined to have a center cap. The race wheels (dubbed track model) have additional material removed between the bolts (if you look at a pic of track wheels you will see what I'm referring to) to enhance the lightness of the assembly. The black anodized race wheels have holes machined the whole way through, while the polished wheels are usually just "backside lightened", where the hole is drilled from the back, but not the whole way through. This is to help with cleaning them, since brake dust will get in the cracks and is a pain to clean off. We will fully swiss cheese them on polished wheels if the customers asks though. We also remove additional material between the lug nut spaces, we don't usually drill the whole way through though because race teams will throw the wheel up on the car in a rush and get which holes to use mixed up. If you look at a set of our wheels closely, you'll see all the details I'm referring to. Feel free to instant message me on aim/aol at strattysteve for any questions, as I'm sure I might come off slightly confusing, any hardcore questions regarding tire compounds and recommendations should be referred to john or the forum on our site. Guest Terry S
No worries mate. FWIW they have no raw materials to commence making new sets for 2 weeks, but I am sure no one is in too much of a rush.
