imi
Homer, thats a great price and a nice looking kit. Good luck with the install. Why do you need to go for a K&N filter, is it not better to modify the stock Airbox (cold air feed and all that)

Why do you need to go for a K&N filter, is it not better to modify the stock Airbox (cold air feed and all that) The only way you can make good use out of the stock box on a single is with no fillament inside, otherwise they are too restrictive for a single and cant provide air quick enough. What i dont get is people that say aftermarket induction kits are bad because of there filteration and then slap in a less restrictive fillament in there stock box to allow better air flow which also allows more crap to make its way to the engine....lol Nothing wrong with some induction kits (Apexi) as long as the oil is changed more frequently for obvious reasons and the filter is well shielded. Not a dig at you Imi, its just a thought.
imi
Not a dig at you Imi, its just a thought. No offence taken. CW himself recommended the toyota Panel Filter which is what I use, I dont even use a "uprated" panel filter. BTW: the Apexi ones are maintainance free = no oiling required. The main advantage I wanted to highlight wasnt necessarily the filtration but more the cold air feed + Heat Sheild properties of the stock airbox. TBH i haven't come accross many singles with well shielded induction kits, probably because the singles tend to generate less heat and in the real world heat soak is not much of an issue once the car is in motion, it's mostly as issue and very noticeable when on track.
