Jake
Is the spl file plain text or binary?

chilli
hmmm well I'm not sure but I believe if you copy the recovered spool file to the revelant windows print spool directory (something like cd\windows\spool\printers) and then open the printer from the control panel it should appear as a print job that you can resume/reprint. never tried it, but it should work in theory, assuming the spl you think you have is the right one with the right data in it
chilli
and spl files won't be text readable, they are literally a cache of the data going to the printer in it's native format iirc
Jake
Can you drag and drop the spl file onto the print queue?

cookci
Can you drag and drop the spl file onto the print queue? it tells me this file cannot be printed, please open in the correct program. i tried printing another document and copying the spl and other file then put them back in to the folder again later and it didnt reprint

chilli
nope that won't work, you need to move it in the file system also there is an option in the printer settings (Printer->properties->Advanced tab) called 'keep printed documents' which you might need to enable before it bothers looking for stored spool files in the file system - possibly
