Jake
Not another dane because of Mac? Kinda. We loved him to bits but he was a pain as well in some ways. He took up loads of room on the sofa (and bed if you let him), Slobbered everywhere - we've had to get slobber off the ceiling a few times! Barked amazingly loudly at the postman/dustman/anyone wearing a baseball hat. Would eat out of the kitchen bin the moment you turned your back. Made huge piles of dog crap in the garden. Dug holes in the lawn all the time. etc etc - but he was great. He was lovable though, just a big baby realy. I know what you mean. People seem really suprised I don't have another horse but I've kinda got to get over the "there will never be another one like him" mindset. There won't be another one like him, but there could be one who's just as special in other ways. What other breeds do you like?Yeah, I suppose you'll know when you're ready for another. I like most dogs. Don't want anything small and yappy though. Danes, Boxers, Ridgebacks, things like that are great. I love Rotweillers but I wouldn't have one, even before the events of the last few days, because of their image problem.

dazla
i'm sick of people blaming dogs for all the attacks that happen. its the owners that are pissin scumbags who cant treat there dog right. i came out of work the day after that rotti attack and saw a lad riding down the road on his mountain bike draging a puppy staff on a lead. in the cycle lane and this is a busy road in tea time traffic. the dog coudnt even keep up. i just couldnt believe how fuckin brain dead some people are[ANGRY][/ANGRY]
andrew7
I also believe you cannot trust any dog 100%. Don't agree with that Pete.....
andrew7
I don't see the problem with having any dog as a pet as long as the people looking after the dog are responsible. To add to that I think there should be regulations on the size of dogs allowed for certain sizes of accomodation, i.e. if you live in a small maisonette you shouldn't be able to have a Great Dane or larger dogs for example. It's not fair on the dog (or the people in the house)........
Kopite
Report on the news now about Britain's "shocking dogs" and how to stop people being attacked by "viscous animals" and why we're still living with "deadly dogs" Does my head in, how many times do you hear that the kids were throwing stuff at the dogs or intimidating it before they attack?!
andrew7
Yes, so therefore no-one can say that no dog would never attack someone. Pretty much the same as people then......
Darren-K
dogs get in bad moods like any animal, the exception being a dog cant say go away,. no-one should be alllowed to have an animal like that as a pet., ive heard it all before." he wouldnt hurt a fly" "he`s harmless" blah blah,. fact is its dangerous and stupid to have any animal that size in a home as a pet. guard dogs are a diff thing - however they should be 110% away from the population and in a secure enviroment. but as far as pets go - they shouldnt be allowed,. im absolutely certain if it was legal to have a fully grown lion as a pet in a home - someone would,.and they would even take it for walkies in the street. supraaaaaaaaaa
but as far as pets go - they shouldnt be allowed,. im absolutely certain if it was legal to have a fully grown lion as a pet in a home - someone would,.and they would even take it for walkies in the street. actually not its not if you apply for the dwa liscense for you to keep the animal its perfectly fine !!!! im sorry, but i would be a lot more worried about some young wanabee gansta thinking hes hard in the local booza than any animal nowadays !!! i had an issue 3-4 months back where someone kicked my dog in a park as it ran upto him and wagged her stump, i went mad, thought the only logical thing was to kick him straight up his backside in return he didnt take it to well, but hey thats life !!! he shouldnt have done that to my dog, if he killed her i would have killed him simple, my dog is a member of my family and therefore like a child to me {without all the answering back and bellding you dry bits}

matt k
you see my dog hes big as f*ck white german sheppard these kind of dogs were used in russia i think as fighting dogs, you look at mine you wud probably shit ur pants and he is as friendly as hell never ever once attacked anyone and never will all dependshow they are bought up aswell Didn't you say that a dog atacking someone depends upon genetics, and then say that your white GSD was bred for fighting but wouldn't hurt anyone???? Darren-K
See how you'd feel if your baby got run over by an evil dangerous car. well thats 100% diff, a car isnt an unpredictable animal with sharp teeth that sits on the sofa next to your children,. living in the same household. a car is controlled by a human - albeit some idiotic humans, but nonethelss human. give me 1 single reason why a dog of that size should be kept as a pet - theres no reason at all. you might as well have a wolf as a pet. supraaaaaaaaaa
you might as well have a wolf as a pet. funny you should say that but a relative of mine does he has an entire pack and they are fairly tame, he doesnt have them in the house or nowt they are in a huge enclosure and are used for filming and events etc but is a great way for him to keep some of the last in this country in great condition and happy
