Supragal
Scrub that Height, weight: from 55 to 64 cm. From 38 to 50 kg So not very tall but seriously burly!!!
Rob
Does that include cats? I mean a cat can sleep on your head and suffocate you... I wouldn't have a cat on principle. Cats are the demon minions of the dark Lord. Cats, big dogs, spiders, pythons and other vipers, bears and all pachyderms.

Supragal
Rob- lol, fair point. Still until you've been woken up by a doberman landing on you you've not lived That looks loads bigger than I though. 64cm is kinda medium breeds. I have to say that one looks fat. My mate used to have a dog cannot remeber the breed. It was a short haired, a charcoally, smokey with a hint of purple colour. But this fecker was over 6ft when it stood on it's hind legs paws on your shoulder. It was huge.
Gazboy
That's to the shoulder Rosie- 64cm is still 2ft 2 inches- look how high up the handlers thigh his shoulders are. 2 of these killed a lady in New York a few years ago. I saw one of these in the park a few weeks ago- it was dragging two people (man & wife) with ease, there was no way they would have held it if it went batshit. RobSoarer2.5TT
Poss. It had different ears I think this was about 5 years ago
Supragal
Yeah I know how they measure dogs It's still a medium breed though, it's only 3cm bigger than a retriever. It's still seriously built though. I take it they cut their ears? And perspective in that pic is making him look bigger as he's in front of the bloke. PLus that bloke could be 4ft tall, or 7ft tall so it's difficult to gauge! Sounds like a blue great dane to me... but it's a fairly vague description. I love blue danes That's my next dog. Jake
It had different ears I think In the UK we don't dock Great Dane's ears like the yank one in the pic above. UK Danes have ears like this one: http://www.geocities.com/greatdane_rehoming_rescue/Hoyzi.JPG

Supragal
Worryingly enough I used a dog growth predictor chart the other day and currently Stig is growing in height and weight proportions to that of a great dane.... errrr help?? He's 7 months and 38kg.

Supragal
In person they are WIDE, but as they are tall it makes them look more in proportion. Like staffs they look hugely wide but it's only cos they are wider than they are tall!!
Jake
How's your aunt Jake? You feelin any better about Mac? Yeah she's much better thanks mate. She reckons there won't be much of a scar eventually. The Doc at A&E did a great job stitching her up. She was lucky there was a plastic surgeon on duty that night. We're all getting used to not having Mac about but it still feels a bit weird in the house without him. I had to go to the vet's to collect his ashes the other day. That wasn't much fun. My friend still has a box like that with her dogs old collar around it. You have other dogs don't you Jake?
Jake
You have other dogs don't you Jake? No. I think we'll get another though. I'm struggling with the idea of it tbh, it seems a bit disloyal to Mac to replace him, but we do love dogs and could give one a good home. We won't get another Dane though. I wonder why I thought that. Not another dane because of Mac? I know what you mean. People seem really suprised I don't have another horse but I've kinda got to get over the "there will never be another one like him" mindset. There won't be another one like him, but there could be one who's just as special in other ways. What other breeds do you like?
Bob
Sorry about Mac, Jake. My two dogs were cremated much the same way - we buried them in the garden with a few of their toys about a year ago, and planted apple trees on top. Must say, the apples this year were fantastic!
