tbourner
Who's generaly seen (or known) to be 'the best' in the world at secret war-based missions like assassinations, infiltrations, espionage and the like. I'd always though the Royal Marines were pretty shit-hot, but then there's the SAS and even intelligence agents from MI5 etc? What about American Marines, Navy Seals? Who were the best Guerrilla warfare people (I suppose that's my question ), weren't there eastern or middle-eastern troops that were known as Guerrillas? I heard a story from someone at a Ninjutsu class who was a Royal Marine, saying he was in the US and in a bar were him and 2 mates, and at a table about 14 US Army troops, who were all making comments about them, then one of their guys said "Those are British Marines, this won't be a fight, it'll be a swift slaughter and they'll leave!!". Sounds about right but got me thinking who actually is better?

Daston
The SAS infact train the american special forces as well as other contries their training program is the toughest in the world. In fact the UK still has one of the best trained fighting forces in the world, why do you think it is such a big loss when we loose a guy in the middle east? The Americans loose loads of people would be interesting to see the American:british KIA Ratio. Oh and we win wars! America has never won one on their own. ChrisSZ
SAS/SBS actually work very closely together - sometimes in combined units. The real difference is in the tactical tasking.
