jayssupra
Thinking of going single but would like a ride in a single car just to see if it is really as good as you all say it is, i'v got a Manual BPU car at the moment but would like about 500-600 bhp, what turbo would be best for these figures,
Kopite
BL67/SP67 or PHR2 would be ok for that mate, i'm in cleveland and should have my single on again in a few weeks. Can give you a spin then if you like? My SP850GT on the old supra made 570RHHP on Thor's dyno so i called that 570bhp at the fly, was perfect for the road (until i broke it )
jayssupra
cheers mate that would be great, just send me a pm anytime. ps do you think its worth the money then going single, is there a big difference.
Kopite
It is if it's done properly. My new supra is BPU as well but it just feels slow and boring in comparison. The acceleration of the single was awesome, especially in a 6 speed as you can always be in the powerband if you want to be. The noise is amazing too
rob wild
I fitted a PHR stage 1 single which i'm running between 1.2-1.3 bar at the moment and it made 497.8bhp on saturday. Im really impressed with it! Even on a auto its not laggy and the performance is really impressive compared to my old BPU. The boost comes in really strong @ 3200 rpm. I'm just in the process of sorting out some other bits and pieces before i wind the boost up
jayssupra
1.2-1.3 bars of boost, what sort of boost can you turn it up two.
rob wild
1.2-1.3 bars of boost, what sort of boost can you turn it up two. 29psi=2bar it can go upto with the correct fueling system etc "The PHR Stage 1 is capable of 520 RWHP at 18 psi utilizing the factory fuel system and electronics, or 630+ RWHP at 29 psi using the PHR Stage 2 Fuel System upgrade and MAP ECU. JohnA
...ps do you think its worth the money then going single, is there a big difference. Since you've got a manual, it is easier to go single. Cheaper too (no autobox and torque converter bollox)
Wez
I am running a non DBB PHR Stage 1 on a cast manifold and made 510hp and 500ft/lbs at 1.4bar on a SMIC. I think 500-600hp is the highest you should go for a street car.
Kopite
I think 500-600hp is the highest you should go for a street car. 600 tops. I've had an offer for a GT42R but it'd be a bit undriveable especially for what i want
Ian C
I agree as well. 600 tops. Drivability, lag, longevity, sheer grip on the road and woo-hoo factor all balanced nicely. -Ian
