cashpoint
Sold my car and the buyer want to pay with a Credit Card cheque. Is this th same thing as a normal cheque, with clearing and the comeback. Never seen or heard of them before and the number of stories of cheques being cashed cleared then later withdrawn has me a bit worried.
merckx
Just like any other private cheque as far as I know.
Thorin
Just like any other private cheque as far as I know. except that you don't know what a genuine credit card cheque should look like and I believe they are often stolen. I think there's legislation underway to ban credit card companies from issueing these "cheques", I seem to remember reading something about it anyway. I certainly wouldn't accept one as payment. Guest mk47
my dad gets these from his credit card company but never uses them as most people wouldnt want to take them as payment. better to be safe and just take cash for the car. easiest/safest transaction mate. SuperSupra
I would SERIOUSLY advise not to take a credit card cheque mate. Most cerdit card companies have stopped doing these altogether as there are so many forgeries around. An awful lot of fake cheques that will not necessarily not go through, but may not be from the person it should be from. Just my 2p but I would take a Western Union Money order from a guy in Nigeria offering to buy my car for his 'client' before taking a credit card cheque.
