Extremely Wierd High Speed problem

:( Hi i have a jap spec tt auto

My supra will no longer go over 120mph anymore! I cant understand it. I have had it faster than this before and now whenever it hits 120mph it backs off and wont do anymore! I repeatedly tried this 4 times last night and every time the same thing happened at exactly 120mph!

It makes absolutely no sense to me. Its like its limited itself or something. Or its not getting into the final gear??? I dont know, i cant really tell what it is.

I know its rare to do such speeds, as you dont always have a safe place to do them, however i would like to think it could do it. Its just annoying me so much.

I have the overdrive ON, (button clicked in) so there is no light on the dash and it should be getting into the higher gears just to clarify.

All the rest of the time the car is 100% smooth, and never has problems doing anything i ask of it at any other speed??

Any ideas??

Yeah the sat nav was reading about 112-114 approx at 120mph on the dials

hmmm well at least its not the cars fault which i am please about. My car was badly converted anyway so im not surprised!

Active spoiler comes out at 90mph and the speed sensitive stering is way off!

so it makes sense that the delimited chip would blow. I think i need one of those thor racing ones?? they seem to be the best i believe??

TBH it's probably the top speed defencer wire (i.e. the delimiting 'signal'), which is wired into the ECU in the passenger footwell - maybe start there as it's a only a 2 minute job to pull the carpet back, remove the ECU cover (big plastic thingy held in by 2 screws at the bottom) and have a look. :)

If you don't find anything wrong, open the dash up and see if you can spot a little box with various wires coming to & from it (will stand out a mile if you find it) and see what has come loose. :)
