blitz supra
I'm a little suprised anyone would need a NA rebuilding unless 1.Mega miles 2.Poor servicing 3. Very serious abuse It is so under stressed and it has a reputation of being totally bullet proof which is why it was carried over into the Lexus GS300 (Aristo) And as anyone who knows anything Lexus know they are 99.9% reliable, Far superior to a BMW or Merc just has the wrong badge for the idiots who think a Merc or BMW is prestigious but not as bad Landrover or range rover (sorry Ford) drivers Have friends who work in all the above franchises and all agree for the stupid money you pay and all the faults they have !!! your better of with a Lexus... good old Jap reliability
Max Headroom
Nope Manual with 250 bhp (on 99 fuel ) with paperwork printout from Japan and a real ba""tard in the wet HKS Filter (Since made my own forced cold air pipe and Heatsheild ) Some cam and ecu mods done in Japan from 5500 rpm comes on cam totally different car from that rev range (quicker than any NA i've previously driven) came with 5in Trail system (Damn loud!!) OK OK then if you all don't like "one of the most powerful NA" then "not the most powerful NA on the forum and maybe not the second but quite possibly third or fourth most powerful NA" If you don't like that you can bugger off!! LeeT
Mine is being done by MKIV store and i would not have it anyother way, i guess it's who you know and who you are used to, but even if you did not know Martin you would struggle to get a better job done i'm sure, i do not just give £*000 to anyone, i will be keeping the car sometime now, probably 10 years at this rate, but it will last that long no probs, knowledge and workmanship are priceless:d Got to agree, it seems like Martin is doing a roaring trade with all these engine builds. Let us know how yours turns out. I think VVTeye has just had his done too hasn't he?

imi
so with a 12year old engine. how much bhp would be lost over that time.????? depends on each engine, how its been treated, maintained, etc, etc. however, many TTs are still pushing close to stock figures 10-12yrs down the line and close to 380-400bhp in BPU, so surely thats a good indication that they dont lose too much power over time (well, not the 1st 10-12 yrs anyway)
Guru
If I ever need a rebuild I will probably use Martin's company on this. I have never bought off him before but at that price, timescale and the service we all speak of everyday, I will most certainly trust him with my money. After reading all this though I am still unsure about one thing Martin......do you refurb/swap/do anything with the turbos in that price? MONKEYmark
would it not be cheaper to buy a n/a engine as they only go for 50-100 quid.get a back street garage to fit it for 50 quid.the money you save could get you a nos kit and some go faster stickers.and another spare engine like race teams.JOB SORTED but its good to see how far you can take a n/a engine.see how much power you can extract. If you mean the turbo units themselvs then no we don't unless they require attention. TBH the majority of people who have a build go single anyway. Sourced an NA engine previuosly for about £560 but with labour and other bits it would have still come out more expensive. And to be honest I would prefer Martin loose on my engine rather than a back street boy who was cheap but knew diddley squat about Supras. Although I do have the go faster stripes, which are proven to add at least 10 to 15 bhp:)
JohnA
...I am sure one of the TT boys will be along shortly It takes time for the spinning to stop even on the dry, damn I need to reduce that boost:blink: .............you were saying? Jspec Germany
I have to be honest. Good service, guarantees, no bad press, and lots of good press are what sells me on a builder/shop. From the sounds of it Martin, I'd be happy to bring you my car. Tell me you're right at the entrance to the tunnel.

martin_a
Not interested in a rebuild at the moment as the engine sounds fine but i have followed the thread and i have to admire the openess of the mkivstore for putting up prices and profit levels. Good work and it is nice to see a place with such confidence in their workmanship. m.
