sad news - in memory of my father who passed away tonight

hi everyone,

being among friends on forum, felt i just needed to have somewhere to say this.

really had a bad day here, my father is going to have passed away by midnight, there is no hope of survival. he has been ill for a number of years and recently got worse. on friday he picked up an infection, which turned to gangrene. today we had two nurses and a doctor at home, they rushed him into hospital. once he was there, they diagnosed he only had a few hours to live. even if they operated he would have only 2 months to survive. so decided it is better for him to rest in peace with no more pain.

we have the memories of a wonderful father for which i am forever grateful.

being here tonight, pulling curtains as its dark, realising that tomorrow and forever on, will never be the same, just hurts so much.

sorry for posting this, but i feel among friends and know we all care about each other.

thanks to everyone i know here,

all the best

Ian

thanks for all your kind thoughts. at this time it means the earth. both my Mother and myself are kind of at a calm, as he is no longer suffering. over 10 years of severe rhuematoid arthritis, and other things.

maybe there was reason for this infection, to finally put an end to his pain and suffering.

he is in the Conquest hospital in Hastings. and has been given sedatives to make the last few hours comfortable.

thanks once again. i will be around forum still, as being among friends helps no end.

Gutted for you Ian mate. You're in for a tough time tonight and the next few weeks, I wish there was something we could do to make it easier for you to bear. Be strong buddy, your mother will need your support.

I know there's a few of us on here that have lost parents and the only positive thing I can say is that the pain you're feeling at the moment does fade over time.
