Single installation advice (part2) :)

i was wrong when it come to that pipe (the one on pic1 marked, where does this goto), i thought it was a water pipe, see pic one. Seems like it actually is a vaccum pipe of some sort, see pic 2 and 3, 2 is of the pipe, and 3 is where it attches to, which is connected to the inlet plenium (manifold). Where does this go to? am i right in saying i should run a new pipe in and connect in directly on to the intake, by airfilter?

Any advice, again, is much appreciated :)

That's the idle air control valve - it provides air to bypass the throttle and control the idle speed. If you have a UK spec car with a MAF you need to hook it up to somewhere past the air flow sensor on the intake pipe or the air it draws in will bypass the flow sensor. On a Jspec with a MAP sensor you can just bung a small filter on there.

Ahh right.

Thanks for that Simon

Im going to be running a map ecu so wont be using the maf sensor anymore, so guess i can just bung it where ever i want on the intake :)

Or could i put a small filter on there as im using a map ecu?

Yeah, if you don't have a MAF you can just use a small K&N filter, that's what most people do. It's a 19mm inside diameter flange one, part no 62-1360 from K&N.

I can't remember where it goes to, if you trace it back where does it end up?

The pipe from the charcoal canister should, if you want to retain the charcoal canister, be plumbed back into the inlet. I'm not sure if it's pre or post turbo though. If you find out could you let me know!

Cheers,
