I think i would have chosen tenor had it not been for the fact i couldnt hold 1 up for more than 5 minutes when i started learning (i was only 8 and they are bloomin' heavy!) My teacher, Norman (RIP) only had a tenor so we used to play a lot of duets with both and they sounded great together.

DannyW
know what you mean..I'm knackered after an hours practice.......wish I'd started at 8 ....its tough when you're 'old ' and 'set in your ways' You're only as old as the woman you feel, and my Mrs is 21 It's funny really because i was, sort of, 'made' to learn the sax by my parents, they forced me to go to lessons, and i hated it at the time, never practised or anything. But now i'm really glad they forced me to do it, and i kind of wish i'd tried harder.
DannyW
Just got back from collecting my new piano, the Mrs wont let me have it in the living room so it's banished to the dining room for now. Any piano players on here with tips of what to try first?
Terminator
Played guitar for 20 years then stopped ten years ago. My sons started with classical training, then move into a variety of modern music forms. One son was runner up in a global boy band competion and is currently training as a singer. He can really sing. My other son is a song writer writer and guitarist. His band are playing two gigs in Sheffield this week one last night and one at the Sheffield beer festival on Thursday. Their music was described by one sound engineer as "Groin thrusting heavy psychedelic rock" I am going to the beer festival tomorrow to hear them play
