DannyW
The whole reason i bought a guitar and decided to try and play is because i saw this clip http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8590308394895590930 and i thought to myself, ive got to play that!! but it's sooooooo difficult! oh well, got to start somewhere, ive had a go nearly every day since november last year and i have improved but not much

redsupraman82
there is no point playing stuff you already know try something new everyday and get a good instruction book if your still learning its a great skill to have and also makes you a hit with the ladys at any party!! Chiefgroover
27 years playing, usually give it the wellie before bed. Dedicated music room for my babies, and deaf neighbours, they never hear me and my ears ring! I would have thought "One big rush" screaming out @ 3am would have done the trick but nope, they never hear me. Considering going back out on the road again after Christmas, with a good female singer doing everything from Roxette to Gary Moore. (Yeah I know Mid life crisis !) My guitar lives next to my plasma in the living room, i usually banish the woman to the kitchen or wait for her to go to bed then have a go on the guitar. Good job we live in a detached house otherwise we'd have had complaints by now im sure.

I don't just play from memory, i wish i could! i look up the tabs first, and download the songs and then try and play them, i'm proper crap though. Nothing i play sounds like it should. A 17 year lad i work with is self taught and only been playing for about 2 years and he's amazing! I'm so jealous of people like that.
hob
I'd love to play the guitar. I'm left handed, does that make a difference? Hendrix just about managed

My neighbours on that end of the house are about 25ft away, yippee!! , double glazing and enough space to rock as i want when I want . OK get the drummer and we can make the "SUPRA" song with multi guitar layers and lasting like Freebird for 11 mins!
RedM
I'm learning from that Burt Weedon Play in a Day book. What he doesn't say is that I'll be playing one day in 2010.

OK red, start with the lyrics I'll try and think of a few licks to make it sound racey and high energy!.
Kopite
Been playing about 10 years now too, moved on from the piano (beatles stuff etc). Prefer reading tab, lost interest over the last year but starting to get back into it now. Got a nice black Les Paul Custom, really want a Line 6 Variax 700 though

RIJ8631
Couple of good web sites for music are 1) http://www.chordie.com 2) http://www.pesenki.rui You'll get all your music needs on these sites. Try playing "Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd, so easy to play but sounds fantastic on a 12 string. Cheers Ian

DannyW
To give you an idea of how poo i am, ive just learnt the intro to Vertigo by U2 a few minutes ago. And it doesn't sound that good. Ive seen some DVD's on eBay with little instructional videos of how to play some songs. Might order 1 or 2 as they're only a fiver or so.
