DannyW
Just sat on my sofa with nothing to do so thought i'd pick up my electric guitar and have a mess with it, had it nearly a year now and have been trying to teach myself how to play, a bit at a time. Anyone on here play at all? any easy songs to try? been flicking through the music channels on sky for inspiration but not helping much. Sorry for the waffle but im bored. Class One
Yes mate I've been playing now for over 30 years (blimey is it that long!) Here's a couple of good sites that might help you along. http://www.e-chords.com/default.asp & http://www.iol.ie/~murphypj/. The first one is good for improving technique and the second has some good tabs for popular songs etc. Hope that helps.
DannyW
Yes mate I've been playing now for over 30 years (blimey is it that long!) Wow! you any good then? did you have lessons or self taught? What sort of music do you normally play? Ive been using a couple of sites for tabs as that seems to be the easiest way to learn, hearing songs throughout the day on the radio at work then trying to find the tab and play them when i get home at night. Class One
I got one for my 8th birthday had some classical lessons at school for about 6 weeks but got really bored. My neighbour at the time was a student and he taught me bar chords and stuff. But I've never had lessons since and play mostly by ear. I can't read music. I stopped playing for about 10 yrs just got fed up but started up again about 3yrs ago. Its a good stress reliever.
Charlotte
I'd love to play the guitar. I'm left handed, does that make a difference?

Pabs
I am 24 now, and I've been playing all types of guitar since the age of 7 (17yrs now!!!) I started with classical, moved to electric, now currently playing bass in a band and also the drums from time to time Good energy release that one! I still have so much to learn, and since I have not played as much for the last few years it means I'm almost back to square

That's really cool, wish i'd picked 1 up earlier, i started with an alto saxophone instead when i was about 8 (i'm 24 now) and had lessons for about 10 years and did exams and things, up to grade 5 or 6, cant remember. Getting a Kemble upright piano next wednesday too but that's a whole new challenge.

AJI
I try to play. Had an electric guitar for over 5 years and tried to teach myself by downloading tab from the net but it just requires so much time input from me in order I can play something that sounds like what it does on CD. In the end I tend to give up as I usually have other things to be getting on with. I have heard a CD of another Supra member on here who can play the guitar damn well. He may reply to this post if he wants to let people know.

redsupraman82
danny, i proper gibson les paul is not only a fantastic guitar (i have 2, 74 custom, and 98 standard) but also a sound investment. i brought my 74 les paul custom 6 years ago for £1800 and now it is worth just over £4000! the prices only keep going up!!
