gaz1
Funny how only three traders, who haven't really had any history of poor customer service have contributed to this thread whereas the others, have remained strangely quiet. i have bought off colsoop and nic both second to none on service, not been to chris wilsons yet, but will be as he took the time to advise me on a few things over the phone, so its nice to know some care;)
JohnK
Just to make things clear - the trader I was refering to has not replied to this thread.

TLicense
With regard to PM's i rarely answer them, as I can't effectively collate them or store them as i would like, but this is made clear in my sig. I reply to as many e-mails as I can, but I am reliably reached at any reasonable hour by phone An in depth reply by e-mail, to a short but tricky question, could tie up 20 minutes of my time, yet a more detailed and effective interchange for both parties, by phone, might take 5 minutes. It's for this reason the phone is still king, IMO. You say that Chris, but I MUCH prefer e-mail than calling. When writing an e-mail I can take my time and make sure that I'm asking all the questions that I need to. I always re-read my e-mails to try to make sure that I've not missed anything. My personal opinion, is that if a subject is better off talking about over the phone, then a simple reply to my e-mail saying "call me about this" is always much better than just not replying at all. That said I can understand that you're trying to make effective use of time, but me phoning, then phoning again because I forgot to ask something, and then phoning again because I didn't really understand what you said is a pain in the arse. However it is surprising how difficult it can be sometimes to get a simply answer to "how much will it cost fully inc. of X". With one particular american supplier I think I made about 14 e-mails after saying I want X, here's my address, how much will it cost?" before I was able to actually make an order. Pete
Depends how many emails your receive! Emails do take a lot of time up. Way too much of my day is spent in Outlook.
Sheefa
Chris, I thoroughly appreciate your choice not to use text and hold off of emails too. I agree that if there's a problem with the car, it's so much better to speak to you direct and gain a better understanding of what's needed over the phone. Colsoop - I will be having those parts off you Colin as per my PMs and I am very grateful for your patience in dealing with this. Just had a few setbacks recently! As far as I can see, I'll always follow through on my word, but if a trader cannot take the time and effort to respond to my questions and accept £500 of my hard earned cash then see ya! I'm not going to mention any names here. I'd also like to say that I have been impressed with Pauls (Miami GT) service and response to all PMs and emails. Thanks Paul.
