Alex
When I recently changed my fuel filter I discovered that my fuel line and fuel filter have been cross threaded. Which means its a b*tch to take off and a b*tch to put back on. So as its a hard pipe I need to replace it (yes/no)? Anyone had to do this before? Is it easy...should I empty the fuel tank first? Is there a point near the tank where i can clamp the line shut? Anyone know a predicted price for the parts? Should I get an uprated fuel line....(v. doubtful as it would probably require a custom build). Is there a way of correcting the thread which the fuel filter screws on to? I don't want to lose as much fuel next time the filter is changed! Regards
Phil Wall
When working on the filter, I run the tank down to get the fuel the light on, then jack the front up high and open the filler cap to release pressure. Hardly any fuel comes out. Can't help re the cross threading
Alex
All common sense stuff which I didn't do... can't jack it up at an angle as I use a proper ramp - none of this lying on the floor b*llocks!!
