Basically you need to start by saying "Thanks for coming everybody from my wife and I" And does'nt she look loverly etc.

Then you thank everybody starting with parents, then bridges maid, bestmen etc. Then give out any gifts etc or what ever and thats about it. I fill mine out with a few funny tails etc

Hope that helps buddy

Good luck matey :)

I finished writing my speech on the morning of my wedding.

The great thing about wedding speeches is that nobody is going to get up and seriously question you, I sometimes have to speak in meetings at work, and spend most of the time dealing with hecklers.

Compliments for the bride, and good hearted ridicule for the best man.

Have a great day

I've been to a couple of weddings where the speeches are before the meal. This way everyone is keen to get to the meal, so will be listening (but not too intently) but most importantly you can then enjoy the meal without worrying about the speeches (i.e. you can enjoy the wine :D)

you could always thatnk the bride for agreeing to be your wife *AND* for turning up.

oh and congratulations by the way.

Give all your mates a key before your speech. Towards the end of your speech just make an statement that now you are married if anyone has a key to her home (or chastity belt depending on the audience!) kindly bring it up to the top table. Better still , get them not to move then repeat it with a bit more threat. It's hilarious to see the rest of the reception looking amazed when they all come up.

I was best man once and set up the bride by getting all the girls to come up and hand 'em in. (Gave me a great chance to chat to them  )
