JonW
This has probably been covered before but I couldn't find it using search!!! What should I be expecting to pay for a cam belt change. Is it better to source the part myself and then just pay someone to fit it? Cheers Jon
LeeT
It will cost you around £180 to change

Jake
You've obviously never fitted one then, Hodgy
Rayman
What other parts are recommended to be fitted at the same time, is it the other belt?
Jake
Some folks change the water pump while the crank pulley is off. No need to change the aux belt as it's only a five minute job anyway.

fredm
Personally I would replace the Tensioner Pulley also, it may sound ok when you spin it but for what they cost (about £30) it would seem to make sense. Make sure your tensioner is working correctly with no leaks also. If I was going to keep the car for 3 or 4 years and there was around a 100k on the engine I would change the water pump aswell, it's a lot easier when theres less stuff in the way. Again, if your keeping the car while you have the coolant drained stick a new thermostat in there too. There only £25. The total could be somewhere around £300 now. Jake
Our full cambelt service consists of:- Cambelt Tentioner pulley Front main Crank seal Manual £219 Auto £249Why's it more for an auto? If you're using the SST for locking/removing the crank pulley it wouldn't take any longer, would it?
