Polemarch
I have a 1994 Supra GZ and it is all running great. I've not driven a TT before so I have nothing to compare with. The 1st turbo kicks in nice and low and then the power continues more or less consistently up through the curve. Should there be a noticable kick or something when 2nd turbo kicks in or should it be seamless? Is there a simple test to make sure all is well? Thanks

Thanks hi mate there should be a serious kick when turbo 2 comes in,its like all hell braking loose:d have a look in the FAQ section and there should be some excellent info on how to fault find probs with the sequential system. once turbo 2 is working you will have a big grin on your face bud! Pixelfill
I thought it was all linear unless you had gone BPU at which point (as Rich so eloquently put it) All hell breaks loose. Unless you have Exhaust mods, a Cat out and increased fuelling AFAIK it sounds to be as expected. Mike

Ian C
Yup, stock you shouldn't feel any sudden surge. If your 2nd turbo wasn't working you'd feel a dropoff in power, depending on the failure mode it'd feel strangled or like you lifted off the throttle suddenly. -Ian
b.weeks
I have a sports exhaust (no de-cat) and induction kit, apart from that it's a standard TT. There's a definite increase in response at 3800rpm (from memory) where the second turbo kicks in I believe.
MrAngry
Mine was never linear when it was stock. The second turbo coming online always gave a good kick.
b.weeks
(2nd turbo kicking in is more noticeable than the first too if that helps)
Polemarch
There is definitely no loss in power, the car keeps speeding along. The whistle from the turbo sounds the same from when it starts right up into 3 figures. There isn't a noticaBLE 'kick' after the 1st turbo has started. Polemarch
I forgot to say, this car is completely stock. Bog standard GZ.
