SmigzyTT
WORLD RECORD! Reece McGregor and the Heat Treatments Ltd GT-R Skyline were at it again at Willowbank Raceway today and man were they at it! Smashing the HKS GT-R Skyline World Record well and truly with a 7.590sec at 191.97mph/308.96kph! The team were needless to say over the moon with the performance and with a good handle on the clutch setup now feel they can wind some more power into the GT-R for the Fast Fours Jamboree this weekend. http://www.sportcompact.net.au/WRSMALL2.wmv Just out of interest, whats the soop W/R? Alex
FWIW, That car is on Methanol Sumo arn't going to run Methanol. Running Meth allows them to make more power. Still tis bloody fast.
SmigzyTT
FWIW, That car is on Methanol Sumo arn't going to run Methanol. Running Meth allows them to make more power. Very true, anyone can stick a load of extra injectors and run meth, but then again, the fastest car is the fastest car!The HKS record was on race fuel. From what Mr Barnes has been saying on the GTR register Sumo are aiming for the top 5 in the world which is damn quick!
Alex
Got any better pics of the engine bay? The pipework looks fantastic. (PS I hope you realise I wasn't knocking it I was explaining why Sumo probably won't catch it.)
SmigzyTT
Yeah mate no worries, whatever they're running its a great piece of engineering. More piccies.... whats the soop W/R out of interest?

mkirby
to be an official record dont they have to do another run within a certain time within a certain time different of 5 or 10% or something?? as its been said with all that snaking and wheel spin all the way up it looks like it could do a 200mph+ run and poss break into high 6's?? Alex
Pro Drag 3000+lbs Supra's are running 7.8's I think.
Alex
Why does the Sumo car have a water butt included?
SmigzyTT
do they not have back it up to within 1% of the time? not too sure, apparently there is a little more power to play with from the tubby if they want!! Nutters its already rumoured to be around 1600hp (still a 2.6) High 6's and 200mph is def. possible but you'd need arnie arms to keep the b*gger straight!! Bobbeh
Whats up with the front of the car, looks like one big painted pannel, including the headlights! These cars are starting to turn into funny cars.
Markie
If its a GTR, why is there only smoke comming off the rear wheels?
Bobbeh
I think they run them in RWD, with the Attessa system you can alter where the power goes.. it may even be disconnected on this car just for the rear wheels.. besides all real drag racing cars are RWD. Jake
@ the license plate on the Aussie car!
SmigzyTT
Yeah they painted the ducts on! They use the line lock to get some heat in the rear tyres then go back to using attessa for the launch, i think you'd struggle with the attessa on for a burnout, would be fun though .Apparently they're running again this weekend, rev limit was set at 9500 for that run but has a limit of 11000!!!
