Rik Mayall went through a similar patch a few years back (1998?), touch and go with a serious head injury, talk of brain damage etc after a quad bike accident... he came through in the end, so there is always hope that the hamster may still pull through. Not sure he will ever be 100% again if he does, we can only hope.

I`ve been following this news throughout the day and I really hope he gets through this. Feel free to shoot me down in flames for what I am about to say as I may be totally wrong. The Vampire jet car used to be known as the Sealink Vampire driven by Colin Falowes back in the late eighties. He used to match race against Mark Woodley who drove the Hellbender jet car at Santa Pod. On one occasion it appeared that after the quarter mile run only one of the two chutes on hellbender opened, this turned the car violently left and hellbender hit the wall head on at about 250 mph, Mark Woodley died instantly. From what I have seen Vampire still has an identical chute layout, two chutes placed higher than the engine one on either side of the car. If the same thing happened to the hamster then this was no freak accident, but an accident that could have been avoided. I`m not pointing the finger of blame at anyone, It looks to me like an inherent design flaw that should have been sorted out after the first accident.
