Hi there,

You guys probably don't know me as I'm new on this forum but I am a regular on the GT4 forums and quite well known over there. The reason for me coming to this forum is that I have a very special oportunity for a toyota enthusiast so I am advertising it on all the applicable club sites (as well as the fact that I love your cars :D I will own a supra one day!).

I am contemplating selling my turbo due to the fact that I need money for other things and hence I am thinking about reducing the aims of my celica GT4 project somewhat. As there is no other turbo's like this for sale I don't really know what its worth so I am open to offers and any advice on what people think the setup is worth is more than welcome. Please understand that the turbo is not 100% defo up for sale yet, although it is likely and a good offer may tempt me.

I would also be interested in a part ex for a decent spec CT26 hybrid turbo, or other turbo conversion (T3/T4, TD06, HKS 3037 etc).

This really is a one of a kind oportunity for someone and you are unlikely to ever see one like this for sale again 8)

The turbo I have got is something very rare and special, it is a little known Toyota racing Turbo known as a CT34r, which was fitted to the Toyota 4T-GT Le Mans car as pictured below:

The Toyota 4T-GT Le Mans car that used this turbo has a 2090cc straight 4 cylinder engine. There is some info available by searching online but this is very limited.

The car made between 500-600bhp (depending on year) and peak power was between 7500-8000rpm (depending on year) with peak torque at around 4600rpm.

The bonus of fitting this on your larger displacement 6 cylinder engines is that you will be producing more exhaust gases, so the turbo should spool up quicker than the above.

The turbo is in brand new condition, as shown below, and appears to have never been fitted to a car or to have been rebuilt as new. The turbo comes complete with professional metal plates and latex covers to insure that it stays that way until it is fitted. Pics of the turbo are below (next to GT4 CT26 turbo):

I got the turbo complete with all titanium 3” pipework (including downpipe) which is proper race quality, Datajon commented that you would not see better welds on an F1 car! It also came with extremely complicated and expensive looking clamps as shown! I planned on re-using most of this on the car, obviously with some adapting. It will also require the fabrication or adaptation of an exhaust manifold. All of this pipework will be for sale with the turbo.

Pictures of the pipework and are below:

The turbo also came with a wastegate, although this is a little old school, so I decided to get a nice shiny new 50mm HKS one to complement the set up. The photos below show the old and new wastegates:

The HKS wastegate costs more than £600 new (this one is new, still in the box) and will be available for sale with the turbo or without, however I won't sell it if I don't sell the turbo. I would accept quite a bit less than the new price for it however.

Anyway, any ideas on price or offers to tempt me welcome

The item is very unusual and dificult to price, so thats why I'm putting it to offers. I have had several people say they would be prepared to pay between £1200-1500 for it so far.

I will sell it for the best offer, regardless of what that is ;)

I traded the turbo for a load of other parts with a guy who had bought it for his MR2 thinking he would be able to bolt it staight on!

It was originally imported from a racing team in Japan. I took all the metal covers off it last night and gave it a full inspection - it is imacculate and completely clean inside - brand new!

My advice would be, take the £1200 - £1500 now! A bird in the hand and all that :)

Hi there,

Several people have offered me Hybrid CT26 turbo's in part ex, I am interested in these (as well as other turbo's) so if we can decide between us on a price of what your turbo is worth before the end of the auction and you are the winning bidder I am happy to take this value off the winning bid price. i.e. if we decide your turbo is worth £500 and you win the bid at £900 you will only need to send me £400 + your turbo.

I also may be interested in other performance parts in part ex (but have to suit a GT4 not supra specific), so let me know what you've got ;)

I took the turbo over to Datajon's (a proffesional tuner and race car builder from GT4OC) last night and have done a little more digging into fitment etc. Gary_ST165 (from GT4OC) kindly took some photos for me so they are attached.

Surprisingly the flange for the turbo is the same as a CT26! It is just rotated at 90 degrees in relation to the turbo as the pictures show. As you will see I have fitted the cover plate from the CT34r to a CT26 to prove it is the same. The only difference is the size of bore, which is 60mm on the CT26 and 67mm on the CT34r.

Whilst I was there I also fitted all the pipework to the turbo so that people can see how it all fits together. In the first picture below you will see one possibility for mounting it using the piping. Obviosly the manifold would need altering.

This would mean the turbo would be mounted inlet up as shown, and could be ducted straight to a custom made short ram forced induction set up mounted in the grill - this would be about the best induction kit imaginable on these cars as it would get fresh air straight to the filter and have a very short run to the turbo :D

Also here is a picture of the exhaust side to show that it is brand new as I didn't have any pictures with the covers off before, it is still pre oiled inside which shows how well it has been stored!

I don't know, a couple of them are still interested, one seriously, but we will see.

The Turbo is off at Turbo Dynamics in Christchurch at the mo, they are going to measure it up and give me some details of the stats. I might get it flow tested as well if its not too much money.
