I think he said the Mers sinks into the paint so that even when you have sanded it down the silicon in Mer means the new paint can't adhere correctly. I use Nelsons Gold at the moment and although I prefer the gold, there really isn't much in it. attilauk Posted April 4, 2004 Share Posted April 4, 2004 I use Autoglym super resin polish at the moment (cos it was on special offer in halfords) but i used to use mer all the time on my other cars, the best thing about it is bung a couple of capfulls in a bucket of water and wash your car with it, leave it to dry and buff off the residue. I love the Neilsens (esp Homer!) What about on my new white pearl?
