What a complete load of rubbish.

For starters Mr RobSheffield, please get your facts straight. The original thread HAS NOT been deleted. In accordance with the new moderation rules it has been MOVED to a section that only the moderators can see. Homer then posted details of this in the moderators section so we could discuss what the final out come of the thread should be.

Secondly, to Pneumoni and anyone else who thinks mouthing off about sorting people out at a club meet is a hard thing to do. All of these posts are recorded for legal reasons and if anyone so much as farts in the direction of another member at a club meet then I will hand it all over to the police as evidence that your actions were premeditated. I'm getting really pissed off with these "Wait until I see you at a meet" comments. It's getting to the point where people are being put off going to meets and that is the sort of thing that will be the demise of this club and would eventually lead to it being closed. Just grow up and get a life the lot of you.

I'm now going to discuss the moving of the original thread with the other moderators too see if it should be put back. Given the amount of fall out this thread has created I can't see the original being MOVED back to be honest, but I'll go and discuss it anyway.

What a complete load of rubbish.

Once again this highlights the thing I brought up a while ago - if a thread is moved / deleted / edited then all those involved in the thread should be notified to prevent this kind of thing.

OK it won't stop people who were just reading doing the "where is the thread" post but it might help.

Why not split the post and just leave the initial message up, lock the thread, and add a note to say the rest is being 'moderated' and may be back later?

It is getting pointless replying to threads lately where a debate has erupted again it falls down to the P's and Q's issuewatch what we say incase someone gets offended, last time I checked I was an adult, some have been border line offensive but nothing illegal which I thought was the point from the begining to make sure the club cannot be brought into a legal wrangle.

I really still don't know what happened.

I couldn't see any posts that were inflamatory before the pruning (afterwards was when the bunny boiler comments were made I believe).

Obviously CJ stuck a picture of a sheep in there but we've come to know and expect this from him now, how ever he gets his kicks. :D

I don't think people that had followed the thread from the beginning would have been the slightest bit bothered by it.

Now that was some reading!!

But it does make me wonder... as being fairly new to all of this... how careful do you have to be when trying to contribute or add your thoughts/opinion to a thread?

Usually, providing the post is not racist, overly aggressive or downright libelous, then there isn't a problem. At the end of the day we are all (or supposed to be) adults here and will always have differing opinions.

The post removals were an attempt to keep the thread on topic, but obviously wasn't worth the effort. Now there are other mods online we've had chance to discuss it and they agreed, so won't be attempted again

Storm in a teacup indeed.

I can see why removing unrelevent posts on a technical thread might be useful.. but on a completely off topic thread? - (I have no idea what this was about by the way) and who actually gives a toss? and don't all off topic threads end in people randomly insulting each other and talking about tits and stuff....?

I agree with CJ, the poor mods with have their work cut out if this becomes 'a thing'.... :)
