mathew
has anybody here actually been bitten by one? those house spiders may not have a very effective poison but im sure a wee bite off one of them would still hurt a bit.

My mate was bitten by what we think was a wolf spider but not too sure. He says it really hurt, felt like a wasp sting but a bit more wide spread rather than the 'pin-prick' sensation of a wasp sting. Not sure about house spiders, i didn't think their teeth were strong enough to penetrate human flesh?

Yep, i got bitten by one of those hairless red/brown spiders that you can find in old buildings, that felt like a wasp sting, and left a large painful swelling. how_supra
But clowns can't run nearly as fast as spiders, neither can they hide under your sofa, or crawl into your towl and fall on your feet when drying your hair. You are also more likely to be able to throw a shoe at a clown and actually hit one, than if you were to throw the same shoe at a spider. Alan999
I hate clowns to. When i was in Turkey about 8years ago there was as short cut to our hotel down a dirt track, so i was walking down it on my own one nite and could hear some circus type music. When i got to the end of the track what should jump out at me but a bloody clown&i shat myself. My first reaction was a right hand that caught him right on the nose. It even honked when i hit it and i legged it. Very Funny when i think about it now.
