:yeahthat: or if ya feeling a bit wealthy, then get yo' self into toyota and get their 10-50W semi synthetic engine oil... 5Litres and you only need about 3.5Litres of that ;)

no offense, but why would you get a semi synthetic? i know it's Toyota's but still.....

would be better with a fully synthetic like Silkolene no?

i had considered this given his is a TT however, wouldn't you say if it's going to be in there over winter he's better off with the 5w?

In a prefect world something like 0w in winter would be best. But for older enginers its too thin and can be more prone leak past the turbo seals and valve stem seals if they're worn.

so its basically whether you want the faster lubricating 5w in colder weather or the 10w that won't leak past seals so easily.

and yes, hopefully he is taking the mickey...
