2jzhead
What bhp can a standard auto gearbox take?
JustGav
NA or TT? It is not the bhp that kills the box, it is the torque that destroys them, but bhp is linked to torque. Even thought they have the same model numbers A340E, there are subtle differences on the internals. Also, with cooling the gearbox can handle a bit more power. From what I remember, the TT figure is around 500bhp, but then it seems to vary alot as well, depends on how well the box has been maintained in its life and all those sorts of things. terribleturner
Well depends how long it lasts. If it goes quick just slap anothr in, they're cheap enough. If it takes like 2 months most likely a 6 speed although i am tempted by a built autobox.

terribleturner
To buy a built one without fitting will be between £1000 to £4000 depending what one of course. Fitting will probably be about £150 i reckon if you get someone to do it.

Thorin
will people stop using fwhp to refer to flywheel horse power, it's wrong and confusing. Thanks
Bob
So what kind of modifications would be needed if you wanted, say, 600fwhp throught the auto box? A decent tranny cooler, obviously, but anything else?
Stonkin
An uprated Boost Logic box ideally mate, along with extra cooling

There is another company who will rebuild your box but say if you want to be pulling quicker times than 9.99s theere's aare no good And they're half the price of the other 2. They are both pot luck wether it'll hold with the power you put through it or not. £1300 is good, but don't forget shipping FROM the UK then the shipping BACK.
