Guest Big.Mac
Just recently bought my first mkiv supra. Love the car - everything is standard (except for alloys) but when I start the car up from cold it revs up to 18000 rpm. I'm concerned that these revs are a bit too high for putting car which is auto transmission into gear. Is this normal or does anybody know what I can do???? Nic
Is it an NA? The NA tends to rev high like this until up to temperature. ps. welcome to the club /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif
Max Headroom
Welcome Big Mac to the club, I hope you mean 1800rpm not 18000 and yes this is quite normal. I have an Auto NA and it strarts up round the 1800-2000 mark and quickly settles.
Kranz
If it does stick at this speed for ages it'll pobably be something like the idle speed control valve (ISCV) that is crudded up & only unsticks when the engine gets hot. Oh, and do you want fries with that .....Big Mac? I'll get me coat
Dash Rendar
Welcome aboard mate. Keep your eyes out in the 'Was it you?' section. You've been spotted at least a couple of times.
