I've read somewhere that they can overheat, someone took his apart, pulled the fan out and fitted it with a water cooling system, think he makes them for the top of the range computers etc, so he knew what he was doing. I stilll want a Xbox 360, but won't be getting one just yet due to big holiday coming up etc

Another 360 problem thread!! This is happening all too often now and all around the same time.

Was it Mr B you bought it off :D

Cheeky sod :D

lol, no. Its working now. I let it cool down. im a bit worried though as it maybe it will completly die when the gaurantee has run out!

Have you got it in an enclosed space mate - either the Xbox or the PSU?

I've read storys of people hanging the psu up with string to allow air to circulate all the way around it. Bollocks to that!

I'm going to take mine back with the receipt and try my luck for either a replacement or a full refund - it's a joke.

lots of waiting is all i got so far. now there closed. What luck have you had with them?

I haven't. I've called them a number of times now and been stuck on hold for 15-20 mins each time so I've hung up.

I did get through twice before however - first time they hung up and the second they took my name and number and said they would call me back - they didn't. Email doesn't work either as they tell you to call them.

Let me know how you get on if you give it a go tomorrow.

Yep, i was on the phone for 62 mins. They gave me a few things to do and said call back. At which point i said every time i turn it on it crashes straight away. So they are sending me something to organise getting it sent to them. We will see how it goes from there though eh!

Not another one!!!

I rang MS last Friday (0800 5871102), only took 10 mins to get through. It was about 4:30 pm - maybe that's a good time to try

They took me through a series of (futile) troubleshooting stuff before saying they'd replace it with a refurbished one. I was asked when I bought it but not where (actually got it off ebay). On the back is a serial number and a date of manufacture. I'd get in quick before the end of October as it may be out of it's year gaurantee past that.

I have with mine, the PSU and XBox are in a TV cabinet but on seperate shelves, I'd closed the glass doors the other day while playing and it locked up after a while.

Opened the doors to turn the xbox off and though *!@k me that's rather warm in there :(

Turned it off and am now considering replacing the unit to an open style instead of closed in.
