Brake pads low noise??

Hi guys,

In the last week I've been getting a very loud kinda whining noise coming from my nearside rear, its pretty much the same volume no matter what speed, but only when moving.

Took it into the garage and the mechanic immediately said its the pads low and this noise is to warn you they are low before damaging the discs.

Anyone heard of this before, i'm hoping it is just a case of some new pads or is he talking cr*p?

you guys rock, next question is...

I'm looking to get pads online from http://www.speedways.co.uk

It has 2 sets listed for the rear

4 piston and 2 piston

Googling seems to suggest my N/A will have 2 piston rear calipers? can someone confirm before I spend the cash?

Oh while were at it can you guys confirm the front aswell because i'm gonna replace all the pads

Cheers guys / gals

Most NA's will have the smaller 2-pot front/1pot rear option. Best to post up a picture of the caliper to make sure you have the right ones.

I really wouln't bother with cheap pads! I can highly recommend the Chris Wilson fast road pads available from Chris: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/member.php?u=54

There are also other good options available from the other traders here.

Pretty sure mine will be a normal N/A setup 2pot / 1 pot

I will check tommorow but need these fast due to the extremely embarrasing noise my car is making!

Just spotted these from Miami GT, just says jap spec so not sure if thats TT or N/A

Just wondering if anyone knows before I have a chance to ring up and ask

Cheers.

J spec brakes are the same on the TT as NA, the larger UK style brakes were on option on all JDM cars both NA and TT. I have seen one or two NA's with UK brakes.

It is easy to tell the difference the JDM brakes have sliding callipers so have a bar across the visible part of the calliper. On the larger brakes the visible part is solid.
