Chris Wilson
OK, had another MKIV in that threatened to set itself alight. At least this one only *threatened* though This guy had added a second intank fuel pump, had read my post re the stock connector set up being unable to safely carry the current draw of 2 pumps, so he'd drilled a big hole in the tank adpator, fed some B&Q twin and earth through the hole , and gobbed a load of silicone sealant around the mess. It leaked, the sealant was dissolving, it was dangerous, ugly and a real cock up. He HAD tried though, but was unsure of how to do it correctly. OK, Duestch stuff is expensive, but this is what you need if you expect to pass an FIA test, or want the CORRECT stuff. There may well be cheaper options, but the real McCoy is this stuff. http://www.compsystems.com.au/aspt.htm

I'm surprised that he didn't try and melt the hole closed again with a blowtorch A contender for the Darwin awards????
Chris Wilson
He did his best, I'm not knocking him, but it WAS a dangerous set up, for sure. Yes, it's expensive stuff, but it's a tricky thing to do, on the cheap. This company may offer something cheaper, I can't see any price list though http://www.fuelsafe.com/pdf/Parts_&_Acces.pdf Look low down under "In Tank Fuel Pump Wiring"
