Flipfinger
I've been inspired by Darren's last thread......I noticed last night that if you switch the heater up to the windscreen, it *automatically* starts the air conditioning. I barely ever use the air-con (force of habit but also cos of the fuel economy) and just wanted the already warm, normal heater air pointed at the windscreen. How do I switch this annoying 'feature' off? Obviously at the moment I'm just pressing the air-con button to switch it off... AJI
I think when you press the air-to-windows button it assums you are wanting to de-mist them and it selects a temperature (based on outside temp) to de-mist them. 9 times out of 10 that means cooling the inside down and therefore the air-con kicks in. Eric Kasir
The air con will de-humidify the interior of the car therefore reduce the misting. As a side note, you should run the A/C at least once a month in order to preserve the seals. Eric
Syed Shah
It should only do this when the air is on re-circ. Just put it to fresh and it won't turn on the A/C. BTW, Eric is right, if u don't run the A/C often enough the compressor seals go. Went on our jag and cost over a grand to fix!
