Thanks Guys, hopefully it'll look good. We've sourced quite a few parts for it (Which has been a nightmare) and so far owe's us a lot more money that we first thought. We purchsed the car for £500, and we've spent about 1k on re-wiring the thing, another load of money getting it re-welded, more money getting it through the mot, all in all i think it owe's us about 4k, and we've not yet finished! . But hell.... It looks cool :-)

How many people can say they own a chopped roof humber sceptre that has a lot of history with it :-)

yeah, i spoke to the original chap who did it. He said the car actually started off as a test to see how easy it was to do.. He said once he had completed it he liked it so much and spent so long doing it, he decided to keep it instead of doing his other car.

The car has had 3 complete bare metal restores in it's time. The owner told me after they had the mad spray job they were up cornwall at a big car meet (week) and the in thing to do was to have the car black with flames. So they went to the nearist shop and sprayed the car using spray cans and then stuck flames on teh side. Doh. They did it properly on returning. Crazy!

Right.. Well the car's now Taxed, Mot'd and Insured.

Picked it up on friday night and took a very nervous drive to the nearist petrol station. filled up and then drove it 5-10 miles back home. Car's not fast, but it is very grunty and lots of tourque.

Had a few car's hooting me as i drove it up the A12 briefly which made me chuckle, then had a thought that i may be on fire, so stopped and checked, but all was fine :-)

Sitting at the lights on the way back and had a corsa with some chav's in it, revving up the car, so i reved mine a little and the car rocked right to left. the chavs stopped in shock and gave me a thumbs up :-) yay.

So, after the drive i checked it all over and all seems fine, no noticeable leaks or fluid loss.

Decided to take it for another drive on Monday night, and found that the coolant resevoir had a leak, the rocker cover gasket was leaking oil onto the manifold, and more importantly the brake peddle hit the floor and the car didn't stop when reversing out the garage.

So i've ordered a new coolant tank and rocker cover gaskets and i popped up to halfords for some brake fluid. I beleive i must of had an air lock in the brakes and i released the pressure when i checked the brake fluid level. Still - not going to risk driving it yet until i've bled the brakes and checked all the connections (Thats my job tommorrow!)

All in all i'm quite chuffed... it's finally on the road - all be it, it doesn't stop, leaks a little water and has more fumes coming frmo the engine than the exhaust. But am i happy?

Hell yes.

Where abouts do you live?? would love to see this in the flesh. I like the old skool hot rods.

Theres a guy round the corner from me with a Ford Pop with a V8 in. It sounds nice when he goes past our house. He uses it as his daily driver but could do with a bit of work on it.
