lol. I'm sorry to say i didn't record it this time.. It has no exhausts on at the moment so its soo loud it deafens you.

I should be round there again in 2 weeks time and by then he hopes to have the exhausts on (Straight through pipes) and have the passenger side sand blasted down and ready to weld up - if not already started.

He said the engines got plenty of power - he's already had the rear wheels light up trying to get it up a step into his garage and that was without revving it a lot... :-)

I've been extemly lazy and not as yet done the website ;-(

.................................................

Know what ya mean on the lazy side, many jobs to do just trying "cough" to find the time to do it ;)

If you are short on time to do a fully fledged website, you could try: http://www.moonfruit.com/ only takes 30mins to get a half decent site up and running. It's just a thought :)

I've been to check on the humber and hopefully most of the welding should be finished within the next 2 weeks.

Here's a before and aftershot of the chasis section under the passenger side. I't was quite dark last nightbut the pics aren't that bad!

Thanks Bud :-)

This is another issue we've found - but thats all getting fixed/repaired/de-rusted this weekend.

It seems we found the old door that had been welded shut! (You can make out the door line from the pic). Basically the corner of the door has all rusted away - possibly due to the seal being shot and water getting up inside. Its all getting ripped out and re-welded as we don't want to do it all and then find a year later it all falls apart because of something we missed.

I also need to somehow work out how to get the gear change a little nicer as at the moment its all very loose and quite hard to tell what gear your in. I think its suppose to have a spring or something in there to hold it in the centre.

To make you laugh - the front brakes seased up and the chap put some nice number 11's up his gravel driveway attempting to get it back in the garage - This thing spins up so easily!

right, the welding's all finished and he said the car's ready to pick up on Sat :)

I've ordered up 2 bucket seats with fixed backs in lovely black vinyl (Giving it some retro look) which should be here by Sat as well.

After a chat we decided that the welder is going to get it taken to my local garage for a check up/service/pre-mot on Monday and its having an electrician look at it hopefully next week or the week after.

So hopefully will have it MOT'd before next year. Then all we have left to do is the interior (Carpetting and doors etc) and the bodywork/paint.

So its all going to schedule and should (Fingers crossed) be all set for Le Mans 2007.

On another note if anyone's interested in coming along for the fun we are going on Wednesday the 13th June 4am ferry on norfolk lines (£14 each way) and returning on the 18th. There are a total of 7 cars so far in convoy and all of us are going dressed in Nun's outfits with logo's "Nuns on the run" on the cars. - Should be fun :-)

Ok, get the car back on Sat now.

Its had the following work carried out:

Custom exhausts made and fitted,

Racing seats and Luke Harnesses fitted,

New Discs and Pads - from a 2.3 Cortina

All chassis welded up and undersealed

We've also found that it has a MK2 escort back axle and the Diff has Anglia written on it? We are having a custom dash made up to cover up the heater controls and to give us more room for indiactors switches etc.. so i can then remove the Nova controls that are horrid.

We should hopefully have a electrician coming over this weekend to give us a quote for a rewire as we had a "little" electrical fire last weekend that melted a section of loom. Once thats all done its off to the MOT and then bodyshop :-) Yay...

Craig.

All in all prob cost us about 2k - not a lot - but more than we thought. Originally we had budgeted 3k all in - but it needed a lot more welding and work than we first thought. We just need the electrics and the bodywork done then we'll start on the interior.

should hopefully look nice once its finished...

And here is some of the bodywork that needs attention due to the welding and fixing of old door rust - The rear doors use to be here and were originally welded up. They had rusted at the bottom and needed re-welding.
