Help, severe loss of power!

Plug reading is fairly meaningless with unleaded fuel, and especially so unless done correctly, which is an art form in itself, and a method I haven't time to put into print just right now. I am sure a serch on "mixture plug cut reading colour" will raise some info though, especially from the 2 stroke engine world and similar methods apply to 4 stroke engines. To be hoest unless you read dozens of plugs in dozens of different engines, running diffrerent mixtures and timing you won't get very far, it's virtually died out with wide band o2 sensors nowadays.

Just posting my name, so others can spell it in future... :) :D

I get my denso's from Partco (look them up in the yellow pages). no postage costs so they are about £7.54 each + vat.

IK24's are the one's you want.

Good price Alex - and the 24's sound right!

Paul if you are caning it at 130+ leptons at 7000rpm - you are gonna need these in asap - dont waste time with a cheap set (prob too late)

And - get your oil changed 3000 / 4000 miles (which one are you using?)

I have IK24's in my BPU-and-a-bit car but Terry S seemed to think 22's would be more suitable in a recent thread?

Stock = 6

IK20 = 6

IK22 = 7

IK24 = 8

IK27 = 9

That's a nice price from Partco though, something I've noted for the future :)

As you say the IK24's seem to be OK, mine have been in for over 6 months now and the car has been on 5 dynos with no issues being highlighted (other than traction).

Do you have any starting issues with the 24's

Hmm...but when it's warm, it idles steadily at about 800rpm??

Would it do that with cams?

Paul.

It is a pain!

At the end of may I'm gonna buy a second car, so that I can leave the supe to be looked at if anything goes wrong with it.

If I have enough cash, I'd love to get a little UK Mr2 T-bar to run about in!!

Paul.
