Nic one Nick. I look forward to the reports of racing success. I never had the balls the or money to race.

Just out of interest, post up the weight if you get a figure. I'm interested in how close to Yamaha's quoted 'dry' weight the bike is.

Oh, and try to stay on the thing......

hahahaha yeah I will mate (try to stay on I mean, oh and get a weight of the bike!!).....

Not too sure when exactly I will be able to report on the weight, but will try and get something over the next week or so....

I once tried to sit on an R1 and it felt like those blokes on mini-motos - knees next to your ears.

No wonder these things are so light, there's not much bike for your money!

I guess if you ride the blackbird after this one it will feel like a double-decker bus, eh?

This R1 has the rearsets set even higher, so your knee's really are round your ears!! :D

Well its actually going to be used for racing. The track days are purely a way to fine tune the bike and your skills before racing. This bike cost over £30k to build from scratch. Its had over 200 hours on the dyno as well, fettling it. They are certainly not cheap. I bought it after it was used for the Isle of Man TT, with 433 miles on the clock, so it didnt cost me 30k, but still not cheap!!

The reason I 'only' drive a Supra for a day to day car is just that, I cant afford anything more expensive (that cost me nearly 14k), as all my money goes into bikes. I have my car up for sale as we speak to fund more bike equipment and racing costs. Dont get me wrong, I love my Supra, but nothing comes close to the excitement I can get on a bike on the track.

Well I admire your commitment mate. It's a serious bit of kit. Must be fantastic to ride something like that.

Good luck with the racing
